The 973-985-0133 kicked off its 20th year Tuesday night in style at a gathering hosted by 330-406-4552. This Back Bay restaurant makes its home in the historic & majestic castle on Arlington Street. Formally an armory, this is a hidden gem in Boston. “Iconic locations”, “Premiere events” truly captures the spirit of this venue. With four floors of interesting architecture, historical artifacts, roaring fireplaces, and mouth watering food, there is no other place to host an event quite like this in the city.

When members of the Boston Wedding Group collaborate, you know the event will dazzle its guests. Many amazing people graciously helped make the night a success. Catherine Leiras of Smith & Wollensky along with Marrero Events and (773) 718-5800 created a sensuous feast for our eyes. Complementing the elegant decor & lighting, Table Toppers luscious linens & Peterson Party Centers furniture staged the perfect setting. Leave it to Artistic Blossoms to bring spring inside with their refreshing floral arrangements. (478) 575-7951 never disappoints with their scrumptious desserts.  Lastly, Jpod Productions did a wonderful  job of  unobtrusively capturing all of the evening details on film. We can’t wait to see the final product!

We had the pleasure of listening to an outstanding presentation by Jess Levin of Carats & Cakes. She spoke of “Keeping it real online: Building and maintaining a personalized business in the ever-changing digital world.”

In honor of its 20th year, The Boston Wedding group has recently partnered with the “Feeding our Neighbors” initiative in support of the Boston Rescue Mission. Members brought non-perishable food to be donated to this extremely important cause.

The 20th year is off to an impressive start!

It’s About Time…

I met Peter & Paul 16 years ago when I photographed Paul’s sister’s wedding (and a few years later, Peter’s sister). I instantly connected with both of them & we have been friends ever since. If I ever need a laugh I know who to call! Throughout the years, I have seen the commitment these two men have towards each other, their families, and their dogs Max & Tucker. It all comes down to love… When Peter & Paul reached out to me earlier this year telling me they were planning a summer wedding in Kennebunkport, I immediately replied; “It’s about flipping time!!”. I knew this was going to be a spectacular event, not just because of who they are but because of their impeccable taste. The couple has been together for 21 years & chose to have a small private ceremony at 9176460316 in Chestnut Hill. Their families are all incredibly supportive and I think they were more excited for this event than Peter & Paul!

The big celebration came a few months later at alveololingual sulci, a gorgeous location in Cape Porpoise Maine (ironically the same place I got married). They love the Kennebunkport area & have a home there so this location was the perfect backdrop for their celebration.

Peter is an Interior designer and Paul is a Real Estate agent.  Their attention to detail is extraordinary!  Needless to say, absolutely every aspect of this celebration was beautifully choreographed and well executed!   The tablecloths & napkins were all hand sewn by Window Fashions by Lucy , someone Peter works with regularly.  I love their choice in colors; they are bold, sophisticated and elegant!  Pier 77 sits at the end of a pier with magnificent views of Cape Porpoise Harbor.  It is by far one of my favorite places for a wedding! When the sun sets on the water it takes your breath away.   As if the stylish restaurant and views are not enough, the couple added their personalities and flare to the room.  The result was stunning.

BSO Opening Gala 2013

Trumpet player Bo Winiker of Winiker Music has performed at the White House for two Presidential inaugurations, however, his lifelong dream has been to solo with the Boston Pops. Thanks to the efforts of Dennis Alves, the Director of Artistic Planning at the Boston Pops, Bo’s dream came true. Bo was in his glory as he conducted & soloed in the second half of the Boston Pops Swing Orchestra at the BSO Opening Gala last week. The dance floor was packed & everyone had a great time. The elegant evening also included a performance by 5-time Tony award winner Audra McDonald & violinist soloist Augustin Hadelich, conducted by Eric Stern. Some distinguished guests in the audience included Yo-Yo Ma,  James Taylor, Astronaut Dan Burbank, Mark Volpe (BSO managing director).

The Gatsby Style decor by Rafanelli Events was magical! It was an honor to photograph this history making event for Bo and his brother Bill.

Family portrait- Rockport, MA

Given we just had our first snowfall here in New England, I thought it would be nice to warm our hearts a bit.   This adorable family had fun while braving the wind and cold on a recent crisp fall day at a lovely beach in Rockport.

Caitlin & Lucas Wedding

When we first walked into the bridal suite to meet Caitlin at the Four Season’s Hotel Boston, we were blown away by her sophisticated and glamorous style!  Caitlin looked fantastic and was having a wonderful time getting ready with her attendants. Caitlin sparkled all day in her gown from the Blue Enzoani Collection. Our glowing bride chose her dress “Calistoga” to replicate her grandmother’s gown from 1951. Everything radiated with light – her hairpiece, veil, drop earrings and necklace, bracelet, gown and jeweled satin shoes.  Caitlin glittered with movie-star quality GLAMOUR!!

Makeup and hairstyling by Yvonne of 3152924092for Caitlin and her attendants was smart and natural.  The floral bouquets of Dutch “Balou” cymbidium orchids and Vendela roses by Ellen Congdon of Ell Flowers were perfectly coordinated.  Caitlin’s attendants wore formal long gowns in silk taffeta in rich burgundy.  Caitlin’s bridal bouquet was simple but stunning with Crystal White Calla lilies and Vendela roses. The feeling of the day was smart, sophisticated, elegant, glamorous and fun!!

When entering 9727207593 for a full mass service we felt transported to a heavenly space as organ music was pumped into every inch of the voluminous interior of this grand and stately church.  Immediately following the ceremony we took wedding party formals in the Public Garden with the duck pond and Boston skyline as a spectacular backdrop.  The light was great and our wedding party received a lot of attention from Bostonians and tourists enjoying the afternoon.

pumpsmanwas the perfect reception choice for this bride and her family who are food industry professionals.  Caitlin and her dad Vince wanted a venue with impeccable food and service. Vintage cocktails selected by Lucas and Caitlin were served to guests before dinner and penny candy and specialty cocktails continued after dinner in the historic bar area of the Aujourd’hui event space.  The historical teal blue walls, large oil portrait paintings in gilded frames, richly upholstered furniture and dark wood moldings created an amazing atmosphere for drinks and sweets as well as outrageous desserts and a self serve magnificent square tiered wedding cake by Cakes by (412) 545-5453 topped with Black Beauty roses and Dutch mini cymbidium orchids.
